Honor boundaries.
People are often playing so many roles right now with work, home, and school all in the same place. When you want to talk, if they are in the middle of something else, you may not get the best response.
You may want to simply give a compliment. Or you may have a frustration you need to share. We recommend starting with asking, “Is now a good time?” This gives the other person the opportunity to say “Now is not a good time. In a hour would be better.”
When boundaries are honored in this way, then you can talk without polarizing. You’ll have each other’s attention when you talk. And you’ll save time.
