It’s easy to feel polarized. Maybe there’s an air of “My way or the highway” in your conversations. Perhaps the goal of conversations has been for one person to win and the other to lose.

Safe Conversations® invites you into creating win-win conversations.

To do that when you are the speaker, use “I” language. “I feel…” “I think…” Don’t use “you.”

When you are the listener, say “Let me see if I got that” and repeat back what you heard. When they confirm that’s what they meant, follow up with, “Is there more about that?” This shows you’re interested in what they have to say.

These steps will decrease conflict and polarization and increase connecting.
